The name Hayden Mellross to Australian fans usually conjures up two memorable moments, neither of them pretty. One is the heart break of losing the Australian SX2 Supercross Championship when his bike stopped on the final lap, at the final round of the championship in Sydney, while leading and causing a DNF that saw defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.
John Redding has been in the motorcycle business for decades. He has seen it from many different angles, a race team manager, an importer, a distributer, parts developer and so much more. He has seen the good times and the bad, seen the sport at its best and at its worst but he is still here 40 years later and still actively involved in many projects with both racing and Yamaha.

While it’s the riders and team managers who often take the glory for the results, often the hard working mechanic is the man behind the success on race day. They work long hours and devote their lives to building a masterpiece of a race bike that gets destroyed before their eyes each and every race day.
The Yamaha Australian Off Road Championships progressed three rounds into their series before grinding to a halt as the world deals with the Coronavirus. Yamaha Active8 Yamalube Racing’s Luke Styke leads the E1 division while Josh Green sits second in the E2 class and their bikes are patiently waiting for things to get fired up again for the back half of the year.
2020 will see the Yamalube Yamaha Racing Team expand to three riders as a Japanese rider, Kota Toriyabe, joins Jay Wilson and Levi Rogers on the team and in contesting the MX Nationals.

The team were well prepared for the true Enduro time card formatted event, which seen the senior riders cover approx. 7 hours of ride time!
