The newly developed 890cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder engine is lighter, quicker and more powerful, with more torque at lower rpm. The intake and twin-tail exhaust produced a beautiful sound that enhances the feeling of acceleration. The fuel injectors five increased efficiency, while optimised gear ratios and a refined A&S clutch match the higher output of the CP3 engine.

Like the tined intake, the titanium exhaust has been designed to emit a deep and distinctive sound that emphasises the bike’s uneven firing sequence. At lower engine speeds the exhaust sound is dominant, while the tuned intake roar takes over from mid to high revs to create a wall of sound that heightens the thrilling acceleration and torque rich performance of the more powerful engine.

Featuring 41mm tubes with a tough DLC (Diamond Like Carbon Coating) that ensures ultra-smooth and responsive suspension action, the premium specifications KYB front forks feature adjustability for preload, rebound, and compression damping - enabling the SP rider to achieve the ultimate set-up to suit different riding situations. These state-of-the-art front forks are also equipped with low and high-speed compression damping adjusters for accurate tuning of the suspension.

The premium MT-09SP is equipped with a cruise control system that enhances the overall riding experience. For a more relaxing ride on the highway, SP riders can choose to activate cruise control at speeds of 50km/h or above, and in fourth gear or higher. Once the speed has been set, it can be increased in 2km/h increments by single pushes of the switch, or steadilty increased by holding down the same switch. The suystem is cancelled whenever the brakes, clutch or throttle are used.
